YOU might be surprised where Dave “Hughesy” Hughes pops up this year.

The Melbourne comedian will travel the length and breadth of Australia after stepping away from a lucrative radio and television career and back on stage full-time.

Melbourne audiences will get their piece of the laughfest when the lovable larrikin settles in for a 27-day run at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival with his new stand-up show Pointless.

It’s been 21 years since Hughes made his stage debut and he’s happy to be back where the journey began, before embarking on a national tour as well as trips to London, Los Angeles and Montreal.

So far he has no regrets about last year’s decision to walk away from breakfast radio on Nova and as one of the hosts of Channel 10’s The Project, admitting he thought the grass was greener.
